I had to explain to someone once that saying "noted" as a response was fighting words.
It took me years to stop stressing out about burnt out light bulbs in public buildings.
If the lights dim or flicker, I still wonder why we are shifting to fast speed cooling pumps.
It makes me sad that words like "gedunk," "pooka," and "nub" aren't part of normal English.
Submarines have 8-hour watches now? Weird...I prided myself on my 6-hour bladder...I'm not sure I could have done 8 hours. are there only three meals a day?
Interestingly, the Air Force uses “noted” as “aye”. For shore duty I’ve had the joy of working primarily with the Air Force and this is one of many cultural differences
