Future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady announced Friday that he and wife Gisele Bundchen have finalized a divorce, thus proving Brady’s previous claim that an NFL season is analogous to a military deployment.
Brady came under fire from the military and the media after discussing the grind of an NFL season on his “Let’s Go” podcast, when he compared it to going away on a military deployment.
He later would go on to apologize for his poor choice of words in comparing his commitment to football to a military deployment.
Brady has since revoked his apology and doubled down on his initial comments, “Gisele and I got a divorce! See, I told you this is just like a deployment. I couldn’t believe I came back from an away game to find Peyton Manning in my bed!”
Service members agree.
“The long hours, and lack of a work-life balance didn’t really click with me. But a divorce in the middle of the season? Yeah, Tom Brady and I are basically the same,” said one recently deployed and divorced MMN3(SU) who wished to remain anonymous.
I believe there was a follow-up interview with NFL great Tom Brady who stated he “felt most aligned with the P-3 community”. Considering the higher-than-others divorce rate. He would’ve felt better aligned with the S-3 guys (cause they are cooler dudes flying off aircraft carriers) but later realized he was only 10 when they retired the last Viking aircraft.
