MMACS: Duty Officer, request why all of the sudden my division needs proof to tagout the diesel?

SDO: Senior…

MMACS: I’ve been doing diesel maintenance since you were in middle school. It is always the same three valves. 

SDO: Senior, I am not tagging out the diesel without proof. Go talk to ENG. 

MMACS: Go talk to ENG aye, ma’am.

SDO: Control, Duty Officer. 

Topside: Duty Officer, Topside. The crane people really want to start this brief.

Meanwhile in the ENG’s Stateroom

MMACS: ENG, request why the Duty Officer is making my guys show proof before we tag out the diesel. 

ENG: Because the Duty Officer isn’t an idiot. 

MMACS: ENG, this is the way we’ve always done it. 

ENG: We’re not tagging out the diesel without proof. 

MMACS: We’re not tagging out the diesel without proof aye, sir.

MMA3: Ma’am here’s the proof of the tags. 

SDO: MMA3, report if tagging out the diesel is on the SOSMIL. 

MMA3: Duty Officer, tagging out the diesel is not on the SOSMIL. 

SDO: Then we’re not tagging out the diesel today. Also, this is proof for the drain pump. 

MMA3: We’re not tagging out the diesel today aye, ma’am. 

7MC: Duty Officer, Topside. Request you JA, sir.
