The midslate update will be out shortly. As a reminder: don’t get discouraged if the job you thought you wanted isn’t on there. There are still plenty of great opportunities.
It is not the contract that counts, nor the man who points out how the JO could guarantee the best shore tour or where the receiver of bonuses could have received more. The credit belongs to the JO who actually plays the slate, whose slate is marred by prototype and Norfolk AENG jobs; who details valiantly, who errs, who emails the detailer again and again because there is no dope shore tour worth extending; but who does actually strive for the San Diego SLC; who knows the great hours, the great good deals; who spends himself in a worth two-hour lunch, who at best knows, in the end, the CTF 69 Naples job and who, at the worst, if he fails, at least fails making 600$ a month Shift Eng pay so that his place shall never be among those cold and timid souls who know neither rent a nuke nor eternal shore tour.
