Subpar Group Readers,
On May 17th The Subpar Group issued a retention survey for all hands. The results were shocking. Despite what ‘Big Detailing’ tells you, there is NO RETENTION ISSUE. JOs are staying in the navy at record highs!
Please pass out the results of the survey to your wardroom.
Of the 574 survey participants:
· 194 were 1120s on the boat
· 87 were 1120s on shore tour
· 135 were 1170s on the boat
· 158 were 1170s in the training pipeline
Of the 1120s on the boat:
· 2 signed DH contracts (up 100% from last year)
· 192 either intend to sign a DH contract or intend to lie to their CO long enough to get a good shore tour
Of the 1120s on shore tour:
· 3 signed a DH contract
· 84 either intend to sign a DH contract or did not respond to the question
Of the 1170s on the boat:
· None signed a DH contract due to eligibility issues
· 135 intend to sign a DH contract or intend to lie to their CO long enough to avoid getting red detailed to prototype
Of the 1170s in the training pipeline:
· None signed a DH contract due to eligibility issues
· 112 intend to sign a DH contract because they have not been around long enough to know otherwise
· 46 intend to sign a DH contract or lie to their CO long enough to receive preferential treatment
Resignations are down after bold but necessary actions from Captains across the fleet to protect JOs and detailers’ ‘Rights in Retention’.
The submarine force is proud of its recent changes to retain talent.
